When did you start CrossFit?
I officially joined CrossFit Jolt in August 2023. That’s when we moved to Lambertville!
What other sports did you do in the past?
For 20 years through college, I competed in Springboard & Platform Diving – the kind of diving involving flips & twists, not scuba! I retired from diving when I graduated from Columbia in 2013 (Go Lions!), but every once in a while I like to show off my handstands and gymnastics skills at the gym.
What do you like the most about CrossFit?
The community is 100% what I love most about CrossFit. The friends, camaraderie and support keeps me coming back and makes working out way more fun. And with that core group of Jolters showing up every day, it’s helped me stay accountable with showing up consistently and pushed me to be a stronger athlete overall.
What are your three goals to accomplish this year?
1. I want to gain more confidence with heavy lifts, particularly with cleans and deadlifts. Those are my weaker movements.
2. I’d love to connect muscle ups. It was super exciting when I was able to get 1!
3. Overall, I’m hoping to continue my gains journey. I’ve already put on 10 pounds since starting (hopefully muscle) and I’m hoping to gain another 5-10 pounds.
Would you rather run 5 miles or do 500 burpees?
I’d much rather run 5 miles. 500 burpees would be way worse!
Thanks for being such a great member of the Jolt Family!
