This month at Jolt

We can’t believe it’s already November! We’re so thankful for all of our members and excited for a busy end of the year!

This month we’ll be focused on heavy days dedicated to developing the snatch and clean & jerk. Expect a higher volume of light, moderate, and heavy barbell cycling.

November 3rd & 17th, 1:00-2:30pm:
Open Gym! Come get some practice in for Huffin’ for the Stuffin’. Register in PushPress in the Events section.

November 23rd, 9:00am:
Huffin’ for the Stuffin’ at CrossFit PowerHour. We’ve got 5 teams competing this year, let’s go Jolt! If you’re not competing, come cheer your fellow Jolters on! Details here.

When did you start CrossFit?

2021

What do you like the most about CrossFit Jolt?

Working out with great people who want to work hard—it’s very motivating. (Shout out to my 7am-ers!) Also, I love that I can walk to the gym from my house—no excuses.

What is your passion/hobby besides working out? 

Quilting. I actually use WOD&Done thumb wraps when I’m doing a lot of hand sewing!

It is almost the end of the year, what did you accomplish this year?

I got a couple of PRs that I’m happy about (including a 212.5 lb deadlift), but I mostly feel like my conditioning has improved a great deal. I also feel, three years in to CrossFit, that my gym “fluency” has really increased—I feel more confident in my technique and form.

With only two months left, what are your three goals you want to achieve in 2025? Think S.M.A.R.T. goals.

I’d like to finally be able to do a strict pull up, and to improve my pushups. Get some new PRs: (230 deadlift; 115 clean and jerk?).

Would you rather do Fran (21-15-9 Thrusters, Pull Ups) or Karen (150 Wall Balls) workout? 

I’m pretty happy with anything as long as it doesn’t involve the assault bike!!!
